03-27-1882: Edras Gus Lambert defeated Viro “Black Sam” Small in a Catch-As-Catch-Can match in New York.

05-1882: Evan “Strangler” Lewis is reported to have won a 64 man tournament in Montana.

12-28-1882: Col. James H. McLaughlin defeats Edras Gus Lambert, the Canadian champion, at Volk Garden in New York. Edras Gus Lambert also went to a draw with Viro Small at the same event and defeated John McMahon as well.
