North American Wrestling: Pittsburgh, PA: David Sammartino defeated Johnny Rotten in a tournament final to become the first NAW champion. WTH.

JCP/NWA: Atlanta, GA: Ivan Koloff & Khrusher Khrusiev (Barry Darsow) defeated The Kansas Jayhawks (Dutch Mantel & Bobby Jaggers) in a tournament final to win the newly created NWA U.S. tag team titles... NWA U.S. champion Nikita Koloff defeated NWA National champion Wahoo McDaniel to unify the titles.

Championship Wrestling from Florida: Orlando, FL: The Falcon (Steve Brinson) defeated Chris Champion to win the NWA Florida title.
