Wrestling Observer website is reporting that pro wrestling legend and G.I. Joe character and spokesperson Sgt. Slaughter (Robert Remus) is launching a new podcast to coincide with a new movie about the fictional Sgt. Slaughter character.
The Wrestling Observer website reports:
Slaughter announced on Monday that his new podcast, titled That’s an Order, will release once a month on YouTube. The first episode will debut on Wednesday.
Slaughter wrote:
“📢 BIG NEWS, MAGGOTS‼️ This Wednesday, my new podcast THAT’S AN ORDER debuts on YouTube! I’ll be doing the podcast once per month to answer fan questions, tell stories, and relive the biggest moments in my career! 🫡 Get subscribed at YouTube.com/@GoldenEraNetw to be ready for the big debut on Wednesday …and THAT’S AN ORDER! 🫵”
The news comes as a live-action movie based on Slaughter’s character is in the works. Slaughter announced the film last week, writing:
“For the true Sgt Slaughter fans — it’s true. ✅️ A live-action Sgt Slaughter movie is in the works. The story of my fictional military character. Something I’ve wanted to see on the big screen for a long time. I’m asking you to stand with me the simple way: watch the teaser scene, share it, and leave a comment so I know you’re here. 🫡 Stay tuned. More information will follow. Thank you. It means more than you know. 🙏”
Slaughter was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2004 and was voted into the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame in 2023. He also holds two Match of the Year awards, including in 1981 for his alley fight against Pat Patterson and in 1983 for his steel cage match with Don Kernodle against Ricky Steamboat and Jay Youngblood.
