06-11-1879: H.M. Dufur wins the American Collar & Elbow title from Jim Owens in Boston, MA after Dufur has been challenging Owens for the last couple of years. Dufur had been publishing challenges to Owens in the New York Clipper newspaper to which Owens had only been responding, “You talk big Mr. H.M. Dufur but I wrestle big.”
