Sgt. Slaughter G.I. Joe Classified Series Action Figure Review

By: Karl Stern (Patreon)

I now have, in hand, the 2022 Hasbro Sgt. Slaughter G.I. Joe Classified Series action figure and, boy, is it great! I love this figure! Perfectly scaled with the G.I. Joe Classified Series action figures, Sgt. Slaughter makes use of the taller action figure body (Gung Ho, Roadblock, etc.) and comes with a boat load of extras.

The Sgt. Slaughter G.I. Joe Classified Series action figure comes in a full box without a window which differs from the standard in-store boxed figures. The artwork is great featuring a picture of Sgt. Slaughter from the old DIC cartoon series, comic book artwork, and a picture of the decked out action figure.

Inside the box are two more boxes: one containing Sgt. Slaughter and a footlocker with multiple additional hands, a rifle, baton, and a tiny miniature Sgt. Slaughter action figure.

Here is Sgt. Slaughter with his back of accessories. The campaign hat is nice and similar to his WWE Elite version. Six extra hands in a variety of poses. Sunglasses. Whistle. Baton. Rifle with clip and sight which attach to the frame of the gun. Very nice group of accessories!

Sgt. Slaughter’s G.I. Joe Classified Series action figure is on a similar size frame at the larger G.I. Joe Classified figures such as Gung Ho and Roadblock. Gung Ho stands a little taller due to his larger head sculpt and longer neck.

Here the Hasbro G.I. Joe Classified Series Sgt. Slaughter faces off with his Mattel WWE Elite counterpart. As you can see, the WWE Elite Sgt. Slaughter is considerably bigger than the Hasbro G.I. Joe Classified. The Mattel Elite figure is both taller and bulkier, however, the Hasbro G.I. Joe Classified is more defined.

Facing forward you can really see the height and width difference between the WWE Elite Sgt. Slaughter and the G.I. Joe Classified Series Sgt. Slaughter. You can also see the G.I. Joe Classified is more defined. The WWE Elite head has a weird sort of orange tone. The skin color on the G.I. Joe Classified’s skin tone is lots better, however, I really like the camo shirt under the black top of the WWE Elite better.

Here we see the 2022 Sgt. Slaughter G.I. Joe Classified Series 5 inch action figure along with his original 1986 Sgt. Slaughter 3.75 inch action figure and the later repaint version. The new G.I. Joe Classified most closely resembles the original black shirt version but keeps the white belt of the repaint.

Overall, if you are a pro wrestling action figure collector with mainly Mattel Elite, Mattel Basics, or Jakks, then the WWE Elite Sgt. Slaughter is the better choice due to scale. The same goes for G.I. Joe Classified Series collectors, the WWE Mattel Elite is just too big even for Sgt. Slaughter. If you are looking for details, then the G.I. Joe Classified is the best. The rifle especially is really detailed and nice. Overall, the G.I. Joe Classified Series Sgt. Slaughter action figure is an excellent figure and well worth the price.
