01-15-1965: The Medics defeated Buddy Fuller & Eddie Graham for the Southern tag team titles in Atlanta, GA.

01-16-1965: One of the most popular wrestlers of the era, Yukon Eric, commits suicide at the age of 48 in Cartersville, GA. After divorcing his wife and suffering financial problems, on January 16, 1965, Yukon Eric (Eric Holmback) drove to the church in Cartersville, Georgia where he had gotten married, and committed suicide by shooting himself in the mouth with a .22 caliber pistol. He was reported missing when he failed to show for matches in Jacksonville, Florida and St. Petersburg, Florida. His body was found the next day in his car in the church parking lot. He was survived by his three children, two daughters and a son.

Buddy Fuller’s son Ron Fuller claims that around 40,000 people attended this show which was exceptionally above the capacity of 6,800. The Atlanta-Constitution Newspaper gives a figure of 11,428) Buddy Fuller defeated Mario Galento to win the Georgia title with boxing legend Rocky Marciano as special referee...
